Fleamarket guide - Rathaus Schöneberg, Berlin

A market for those who love to rummage and reep the rewards.

Set every weekend between March and October, this large market on the Rathaus carpark still holds an authentic ‘fleamarket’ vibe. There are large tables piled high with clothes, rows and rows of boxes filled with a huge variety of household objects plus rails lined up with second hand and vintage clothing. The dedicated hunters amongst you are likely to come out rewarded especially if searching for interior and decorative objects where we believe this market excels. There are a few professional sellers of antiques but mostly it is individual sellers with their wardrobe and household clearances. For this reason, in our opinion, it remains one of the cheaper markets where good deals can be made.

Depending on the week the clothing and accessories can be more modern era second hand however there are gems to be found and lately we have seen brands such as Burberry, Etro, Escada, Hugo Boss plus great quality vintage pieces however these do take a little more searching. It is particularly good for leather jackets, wool coats and shirts. Also we are excited to see more and more second hand jewellery stalls popping up this season with cute beaded necklaces, bracelets, silver chains and rings.

It is very easy to get lost for hours searching and feeling nostalgic at all the objects from a by gone era. If all that searching makes you in need of refreshment (the market has little food options) we recommend heading to Akazienstrasse to one of the cafes or just a short walk away in Rudolph Wilde Park there is beautiful summer garden cafe bar called LAAX behind the Golden Dear fountain.

We would love to hear your thoughts and if you found this helpful. Good luck hunting! 🖤
